Easy way to get the Medal of Honor in Venom
Sent in by Luke Olson
An easy way to get the Medal of Honor in Venom is to simply enter
Venom the hard way (Go to Venon 2) You will have to fight the Star
Wolf Team, every member you kill will give you 50 points, so all you have
to do is kill each of them for a score of 200 points and a metal of honor!
Hidden Smart bomb
Sent in by Patrick
In the Corneria stage, go through the matalic arch before the Check
Point. When you go up for the Point, a Smart bomb will appear.
Find a gold ring
Sent in by Tyrone Cohen
On McBeth if you hover on the railroad tracks (after saving Falco) you
can destroy the train and find a gold ring.
Fight Andros' brain
Sent in by Codi Pilkington
This tip will let you fight Andros' brain at the end of the game instead
of just his head. At Corneria, (the first world), save Falco, and go thru
all the arches so you can pass thru the falls while following Falco. Next,
you go to Sector Y, don't get 100 kills, or you'll go to Aquas. You want to
go to Katina. When you fight at Katina, get as many kills as you want, and
you can shoot the bay doors on the enemy saucer, but don't shoot the core
to blow up the saucer. Let the saucer win. From here on, follow the path
where the game takes you. When you fight at Macbeth, you have to shoot
all the switches, to destroy the machine boss quickly. When you get to
Venom, you will fight Star Wolf & his gang on the surface (tough). After
you beat Star Wolf, you will go into the tunnel. The tunnel will be
different than usual. Always go to the left to pick up bombs and lasers.
When you come out of the tunnel you will fight Andos' head like usual,
only when you blast him, you'll be in for a surprise, and get to see
Andros' true form. (A brain with tentacles) Blast the tentacles, and
then you fight the brain, which chases you. Keep using Turbo boost to
stay ahead of the brain, and then do a "U" turn to turn and blast quickly.
You must shoot the light tan lump on the side of the brain in order to
kill it. After you kill the brain, you will meet Fox's Dad, and you must
follow him out before Venom explodes. You'll have to use turbo boosts
to keep up with his Dad, don't lose sight of him. As Fox's Dad would
say, "Believe in your instincts Fox."
Easy way to get a medal on Solar
Sent in by Amanda Leigh
Here is an easier way to get a medal on Solar. When those birds fly up
out of the lava, shoot a bomb and press the B button quickly to get all
of them. Also, when you shoot the rocks, they count as enemies, except
for when the boss shoots them at you.
Warp to an easier boss on the first level
Sent in by Matt Mullen
To warp to an easier boss on the first level, when you come to the water
part go throw all of the arches. Then Falco will say "Come on fox follow
me!" Follow him into the water fall and you will play an easier boss, and
if you beat the boss you will take a different route then the regular way.
Steal the credit
Sent in by Colin Healy
If your playing the point match 3-4 player multiplayer mode, this is a
good trick. If somebody shoots down another Arwing, if will start to spin
out of control. If you shoot it while it's going down, you will get the credit!!
Damage the ship's wing for the whole game
Sent in by Brian Fields
If you let one of missiles in Sector Z reach Great Fox, then it will
damage the ship's wing for the whole game, including the end sequence.
Fight against a machine that was in the clouds in Corneria
Sent in by Richard
In Corneria, if you look closely near the end of the level in the
sky you'll see a machine high above the clouds. Instead of playing
that other boss, go through the waterfall. You will get to fight
against the machine that was in the clouds.
Make a person stand on top of another person
Sent in by Michael Gurfinkel
As soon as you get the person in vs. (by getting medals
on all the levels, any levels, leading to Venom either route
and obtaining a medal on Venom), you can make a person stand on
top of another! Just take player 1 up to player 2 (standing still),
and go up just enough so that you don't bounce away. tap Z and R
at the same time and immediately let go. If done correctly (it
may take some practice) one should be standing on the other's
head (actually not standing but doing the splits on). If done perfectly,
the one on the bottom can appear to walk but won't, If player one
walks, he will fall off. If the one on top aims down, he can kill the
guy and when he vaporizes, be standing up. I recommend Falco on
top and Slippy on bottom.
Collide with something tip
Sent in by Kevin Peacock
If you are about to collide with something (like a building), in all-range
mode, then just u-turn and you'll go right through it, damage-free!
Extra life in Coneria
Sent in by John
When you fight the last guy in Coneria (on the easy route) do a
forward barrel roll through the boss's legs and you will get an
extra life. You should do this when you first face him and make
sure that you don't hit him at all through out the whole somersault.
Get an extra life in the first level
Sent in by Ray Lanuza
To get an extra life in the first level, summersault around the
boss perfectly (without hitting him). Start between his legs.
Get the Landmaster in the V.S. mode
Sent in by Michael Swann
To get the Landmaster in the V.S. mode, get to Venom 2
(on the hard route). When you get there, make sure you
keep ALL of your wingmen alive while defeating the
Starwolf team!! It is pretty tough. Make sure you have
at least 180 enemies destroyed. If you beat the evil
Andross and follow James McCloud out correctly, you
did it!!! After the ending is over, go to V.S. mode and
you should be able to choose the Landmaster. Even though
doing it this way doesn't allow access to the expert mode,
this is the easiest way for gamers who only want the Landmaster
immediately can get it without getting all the medals in each mission.
Get life and your wings back
Sent in by Tony
Go to the back of Great Fox in Sector Z. If you lost your wings or lost a
lot of life. There will be a port for you to fly in to. You'll get life and
your wings back. An easier way to find it is to follow a downed wingman
like Falco, Slippy, or Peppy.
Defeat the Starwolf easily
Sent in by Jaytee Lingo
To defeat the Starwolf easily is simple. You can do this on Fortuna,
Boles and Venom 2. First go through the level until Starwolf talks
when he does that quickly press Start, you'll regain control.
While Starwolf is in formation quickly shoot him. You'll kill
Starwolf and some other members without even letting them fight.
Tips on how to beat Andross
Sent in by Michael Dempsey
Here are a few tips on how to beat Andross, but first you
must get to him. On the second part of Venom after you
defeat Phantron II (The thing that is shooting lasers and
dancing around.) you keep going and come to a pole
sticking out of the ground with a door on top. You
automatically fly into this and go through a tunnel similar
to those in the stage "Space Armada". You must dodge all
the moving poles and the doors that open on one side and
everything. A few times while doing this you will get
messages from Andross in the same way that you get messages
from your wing men when they are being shot at. He will
say stuff like "You are a worthy foe, Fox!" There may be a
few others but another is, "Your Arwings have no chance
against me!!" You can ignore it when he says this since he
is really relatively weak compared to some of the stuff on
course three. Also, if you die while fighting him or in the
tunnels you go back to the beginning of the tunnels. Now,
without further ado, I will tell you how to defeat Andross.
When you come out of the tunnel you will be in a wavy
area similar to the Black Hole stage. By the way, Andross
has no power bar and you don't get the "Incoming Enemy"
message. Also, Andross does not use regular assualt techniques
and weapons, after all, wouldn't it be sort of dull if the supreme
end boss was just another face in the crowd? At first you don't
see anything, but, after a while, you see a bunch of square plates
with flashing red sides come into view. These then proceed to
form a square. After a while this square then transforms into a
face, and guess who's? That isn't really Andross's face though,
it is just a casing he manufactured to shield himself from your
weapons and to destroy you. Now the real fight begins. The face
has two weak points, the right eye and the left eye. They are only
vulnerable when they are flashing blue. While flashing the eyes
shoot the gray plates at you, these can be destroyed but you should
probably just dodge. After shooting an eye for a while it becomes
disabled, to destroy the face you must disable both eyes. The
eyes are not the only things you have to worry about, though.
Between eye vulnerabilities the face is not inanimate. It also
has a mouth. Don't bother shooting at the mouth, it can't be
damaged directly. Between eye vulnerabilities the mouth will
first become a vacuum cleaner. I am assuming that if you do
not resist you can be sucked in but I don't know what
happens then since it never happened to me, to avoid it
constantly run the upward engine(I think doing it to the
side also can't hurt.) After Andross's mouth has vacuumed
in a bunch of plates he then spits them back out at you. The
plates are approximately 2.5 times denser then an asteroid
field so it is not easy to dodge. Once it stops you can go back
to shooting the eyes. Once both eyes are disabled the face will
explode, when this happens don't drop the controller, jump
up and start dancing around. It is not over yet. With his face
gone, Andross's body (He is a cube.) will float around. Shoot
it as much as you can. You must destroy the cube quickly or
the face will reform and you'll have to destroy it again. Once
the cube is blasted, congratulations! You won the game! One
last thing, it is much easier if you have twin blaster's while
fighting Andross, in the tunnels before him there is a twin
blaster power up but since right before it you will have to
fly back and forth it is likely that you will smash one or both
wings on a will and you will just get a wing gyro instead.
Macbeth tip
Sent in by Shaharyar Ashraf
When your in Macbeth, switch the seven switches, then Peppy
will say "Okay now just hit the switcher" or something like,
just go hit the switcher. Once you hit the switcher the boss
well say something like "No hit the brakes" or something
to stop then the boss will kill himself and you'll get a good
50 point bonus. When your in Metro and you get to the point
where Slippy says "Hold A to charge your laser" these blue
arrow thing well be pointing to the middle go through the
middle then another exactly the same comes then again and
again and so forth. Try to go through all of them. Once
you do you'll get in this warp zone which is kind of like
heaven. If you kill more then 200 which is easy if you go
through the warp you'll get a medal.
Get the tank in VS. mode
Sent in by Will Bowen
To get the tank in VS.mode you must get to Venom on the
hard mode and defeat Andross and make it out of the tunnel
alive. The course you must be it is Corneria, Sector Y, Aquas,
Zones, Sector Z, Area 6, Venom.
Hidden power ups
Sent in by Johnny
If you go to the Solar Level (the fire level), shoot those rocks
that burst up and drag fire behind it (to look a little like a snake)
to reveal a number a power ups. You need to do this or your Arwing
will lose its shields.
Fly sky high
Sent in by Jaron
When your doing cannon mode shoot yourself high and then press
R. You should fly sky high!
Defeating Andross on hard
Sent in by Graham Ray
To defeat Andross on hard, you need to destroy his hands and head.
Then, when the game goes to all-range-mode, destroy the two eyeballs
he shot out at you. Treat them like Star Wolf team members. Once he
starts to follow you, let him get so close that you can hear his brain
pulsing. If you're that close, you can pull a loop and blast him for
all you're worth. When he's dead James McCloud comes and shows
you the way out.
It's a preety steep bill, but it's worth it
Sent in by Korey Kaczor
If you beat the game with at least 1000 machines destroyed, when it
shows the bill that Genral Pepper has to pay, you'll hear him say,
"It's a preety steep bill, but it's worth it."
Tip to geting a medal on Corneria
Sent in by Korey Kaczor
If you can't get a medal on Corneria, try this. If you find a thing that
looks like building ruins, fly through it, and some enemies that were
hiding will reveal themselves.
Get some help in Solar
Sent in by Edwin
To get some help in Solar, go to Katina and defeat the mothership
by defeating the extended point there and go to Solar and Bill from
Katina will help a little, he gets you a Laser Power Up and some
Sliver Rings.
Cat helps you
Sent in by Edwin
Go to Zoness but don't hit the search lights and complete it so
you'll go to Macbeth instead. At the end shoot the pillars and Cat
will come and help you.
Move the 64 around
Sent in by Viper
When you get to the Start Screen, wait 5 seconds, and then hold B.
Continue to hold B and then move the control stick. The "64"
moves where you want it to move, and the Star Fox team turns
their heads this way and that, trying to watch that thing.
Sent in by Code Hunter
After you beat the game using any path, reset the machine
and when you see the characters start to talk on the title
screen, just use the analog Control Stick to move the 64 around!
Fighting Star Wolf team members
Sent in by Code Hunter
Have one of the Star Wolf team members chase you and let
him start to shoot at you. Immediately do a forward barrel
roll (down on the Control Stick and left C). As the camera
zooms out to show the roll back, the ship will fly past you and
will head either to the right or left. Remember which direction
they went as you fly back forward, while charging up a shot.
Turn to the direction he was going, lock on him, shoot the power
shot, then rapidly shoot him. If you have the blue double laser,
he should be dead with no damage to you. If you use the single
laser, you may have to do this twice. NOTE: This does NOT
work when you meet the Star Wolf team on Venom on the
hard difficulty.
Practice destroying the Star Wolf team
Sent in by Code Hunter
Here's a way that you can practice destroying the Star Wolf
team without being in much danger: In training mode, when
you switch to all-range mode, get your hit total to 100 points
or more. Then look at your radar, if you see a black mark
flying around on it, that's the Star Wolf ship. It will chase
you and fire at you, but it's not as tricky to defeat. When
you defeat it, another ship will appear.
Easy way to destroy the missiles in Sector Z without Katt
Sent in by Code Hunter
The easy way to destroy the missiles in Sector Z without Katt
is to get a lot of bombs before you get to the level. (6 or more)
You can take out the first missile with a lock on & fire and finish
it off with your lasers. (Works best with Blue lasers) The next
two missiles can be destroyed by locking on bombs, by locking
on to the missile and still holding A, press B and the bomb will hit
the missile with a strong hit (2 lock on bombs can take out
another player in VS mode), and after launched the bomb fire the
homing laser and both lasers will be damaged. Do the same thing
with the second missile & finish off any missiles that survives
with your lasers. The last 3 missiles can be destroyed 2 ways.
The first way is if you have 6 missiles use the bomb locking
twice on each missile. The second way (if you have 3 bombs
to 5 bombs) is lock a bomb on to a missile and fire a homing
laser after the missile and finish off the same missile with
lasers. Do this to each missile and you should destroy them
on time. Don't expect to destroy the missiles this way on
your first try since the 2nd way is harder to do.

Play as Fox, Falco, Slippy or Peppy on foot in the Vs mode
Sent in by Code Hunter
To be able to play as Fox, Falco, Slippy or Peppy on foot in
the Vs mode, all you have to do is beat the game on the harder
route to Venom in the Extra Mode. This will also open up a
new title screen.
Restore your health bar
Sent in by Code Hunter
Take the hard route to Sector Z. When Great Fox is stationed in
the center of the level, fly into the hangar bay in the back of the
ship and it will take you in. You will then fly back out of the hangar
bay in the front of the ship. This will fully restore your health bar.
Having to find Slippy
Sent in by Code Hunter
At the end of Sector X, shoot the head off the boss with the
big hands. When the second one grows, dodge him, and let
Slippy come in. He will get hit by him and fly off to Katarina.
Kill the boss and that's your next stage...to find Slippy!
Turn your aiming sight on and off
Sent in by Code Hunter
Simply pause the game and press the R shoulder button to
toggle your aiming sight on and off.
Credits art
Sent in by Code Hunter
Complete the game in Extra Mode and wait for the end of
the credits. Depending on whether you went through Venom
1 or 2, you will get two different pieces of art. One is a
picture of all the characters in the game's heads, the other
is a cool portrait shot of the Star Fox team with the word "Great!"
Warping
Sent in by Code Hunter
Unlike the original Star Fox, multiple paths are not
selectable from a map. You must perform tasks in
certain levels to get to the other levels.
In Zoness, if you shoot down all the spotlights on the
stage, you then go to Sector Z when you complete the stage.
When you hit the last leg of the stage, shoot the red pillars
with metal direction flags on them so they turn green.
Keep a very careful eye out for them. (Hint: If you
went to Zoness before MacBeth, Cat will come and help
shoot those hard-to-reach switches.) At the end, where the
switchboard light is, a switch will appear. Quickly shoot it
and the track will move to the right. Now the boss kills
himself, with a nice 50-point bonus, and you're off to Area 6!
All you have to do is get a score of 100 or higher in Sector Y
to warp to Aquas, the submarine level.
In Sector X, keep left at all times. You will eventually hit an
area where you have to quickly destroy white gates to pass
through them. Destroy and pass through all of them to warp!
Near the end of the Meteo Field, you should see rings made of
sharp triangles pointing inward. Go through one and you jet
forward in a barrel roll. Go through all of them (very tough)
and it will make you go fast enough to warp.
Sent in by Edwin
In Sector Z shoot all six missile that are headed towards your
mothership the Great Fox to warp to Area 6.
Sent in by Danny
Near the end of the asteroid field, (The second level) you will see
about 7 blue rings. When you fly through them you will immediately
start a barrel roll. If you fly through all of them you will hit light
seed and go to immediately to Titania.
Alternate boss
Sent in by Code Hunter
In Corneria, when Falco is being attacked by three ships, help
him by killing the ships. When you get to the water part with
the rock arches, go under every arch. Then head right into
the waterfall. Falco will guide you to an alternate boss, which,
when defeated, leads you to Sector Y.
Extra Mode
Sent in by Code Hunter
By meeting certain requirements on levels, such as a high score,
you will receive a Medal of Honor for that stage, shown on the
planet. Get one Medal on each stage, and you will go to the
Extra Mode. For example, to get the Medal on Fortuna, you
must beat the whole Star Wolf Team.
