Lot's of meat when fighting the bull
Sent in by Joey D
If you have ever needed a lot of meat when fighting the bull but have run
out, do this. When you're on the 5th level in the Castle Center, destroy
the seal in the room with the big bull. While you're heading back to the
beginning of the 5th level, make sure you have the Magic Nitro or have
already put it in front of the wall with the seal. Pick up the Holy Water
by destroying the torch by the switch to the elevator (unless you already
did), and go get the Mandragora. After setting the Mandragora down next
to the Magic Nitro and letting the wall blow up, look directly to the right
of the large crystal in the corner. You may not have noticed it there
before, but Renon's contract is sitting there in the corner where the
floor seems to be a lighter color. You can use it in case you die after
fighting the bull or if you're low on items. Then, activate the large
crystal, save your progress (if you have a memory card), and then head out
to fight the bull.
Now this is where you'll need the Holy Water (and a lot of red jewels,
hopefully you have at least 70). When you first see the bull, when the
cinema sequence is done, he's right in front of you and the first thing he
does is blow his yellow fire thing. Before he has a chance to do that
you should run just to the side of him by his legs and throw a jar of
Holy Water at his feet. Then start attacking his legs with your Whip (if
you're Reinhart) or your Energy Ball (if you're Carrie) until he runs away.
Try to run in circles with him, like if he's running in a counter-clockwise
direction, you follow him in a counter-clockwise direction, and vice versa.
Do this until he start to charge at you but try not to get smacked away
because you want to be next to his legs when he stands up to do his
yellow fire or his blue fire thing. Then throw some more Holy Water at
his feet and start "beating the Hades" out of him. It'll probably take
about 2-3 tries to get his skin and muscle to fall off, and another 4-5 tries
to get his back end to fall off. When his back end falls off, there should
be 1-2 pieces of Roast Chicken laying there.
When that happens, make sure you didn't make any other part of him turn
to bones, and start throwing more Holy Water AT HIS BODY, NOT HIS
HEAD. (Be careful not to get poisoned by the green stuff that comes
that comes out) Then throw jars of Holy Water over and over again and
start whipping (or shooting) him until he blows up. Afterwards, there
should be 1 Roast Beef and 2-3 Pieces of Roast Chicken.
Max out on roast chicken or roast beef
Sent in by Robert Chun
In the maze garden, instead of finding Malus go to the Frankenstein
monster, if you attack him, he will chase you. Using a combination of
whips to the face, and running and slashing him, he will fall down and
a roast chicken or roast beef will be at his feet for the taking. Repeat this
a few times after he awakes. This way you can replenish your stock
of supplies instead of buying them from Renon. You can only carry 10
each. Exit the maze, go into the house then come out to re-enter the garden
to go to Malus.
How do you break the seal on the giant wall in the Castle center
with the big dead carcass in it?
Sent in by Wendy
You have to get the nitro and the Mandragora to blow up a big crack in
the wall. When in the upper hallway, check the knight and take the door
to the north. Check the knight here as well for a good item and try to
kill two to four sword lizards in order to exit the room. The torch at the
end of the room holds a helpful moon card. In the following room check
the knight for a roast and then jump up to the save crystal. Continue on
to the room with glass knights and many red jewels. Beyond that room
is the dreaded butler vampire room, which contains many things that
get in your way and make it hard to see the vamps. Do your best to get
out of the submissions and kill'em to exit, make sure to search the torch
for a purify. The next section holds many fire walls, but many can just
be avoided by jumping through. Take the left way to get the cure ampoule
and then take a right and another right for a roast. Past the door is
friendly lizard man, talk to him to get the torture room key, then open
the door to the left of the room. Here you will see a cut scene with Malus.
Pick up the nitro on the shelf here, but do not jump or get hit in any way,
the result is instant death. Go to the lion fire spitting hallway and
check around for a cracked wall (should be on your left of the door).
Place the nitro here and continue on. The broken stairs below prevent
you from taking the nitro elsewhere. Now return to the very beginning of
the level and after the cage and vent room, take a left then a right to
the torture room. Defeat the vampires and get the Mandragora in the
jar on the shelf in the back. Return to the crack in the wall by the
friendly lizard man and set the Mandragora on the wall. Watch the cut
scene and then when the sparks and smoke settle whip the torch for the
roast. Enter through the right door and use the contract if needed. Beyond
is the library, climb one of the shelves and crab the sun card, then on
the second level jump up on the box mechanism to open the ceiling right
above you, jump up to the third level and hit the box again on this level
to open the ceiling above you again. Once in the observatory, go over to
the machine near the middle and enter 2,4,8 to activate the amazing
cut scene. The seal is now broken on the arena wall, allowing you to
blow it up now.
Invisible platforms
Sent in by Longbow
There are many invisible platforms all over the castle. One is in the
Duel Tower, after the fight with the Werewolf. Jump to the top of the
arena when the ceiling falls, and jump to the platforms to the left. Jump
to the top block and jump as far as you can to the two torches ahead of
you. You land on an invisible platform. There is also one in the Tower
of Execution where you find the Special2 crystal for Reinhart. When
you first get the crystal, it seems that there is no way out. Not true.
Go towards the second floor away from where you came from. There's
an invisible platform in plain sight, right there. This is Reinhart's
journey, if you haven't noticed already.
Get lots of gold
Sent in by Code Hunter
In the Castle Center, in the room where you fight the Abomination, (The
Really Big Bull) there is a crate in the left of where the big crystal is.
Whack it three times, and 2000g will be yours. Now save and repeat.
You will get a lot of gold.
Get the Special in the Execution Tower with out the Execution Key
Sent in by Code Hunter
Most people get the Execution Key to get the Special in the Execution
Tower, but if you find a Skull Cannon and the ledge behind it has an
Iron Maiden, you can use the hidden ledges to pull yourself up there.
You don't even need the key!
Killing the beast on the 5th level
Sent in by Code Hunter
To kill the beast on the 5th level quickly and easily, use an axe on his
head until it eventually disappears. If done properly, you kill him after
only taking off 1/4 of his life meter and you get a roast beef as a reward.
End up back at the beginning of the Clock Tower stage
Sent in by Code Hunter
This works with Reinhardt. It has not been tested with Carrie. After
exiting the clock tower through the third door, instead of going up the
staircase, take the elevator on the right hand side. This takes you to
the roof of the Clock Tower. From the roof there are four edges you
can slide down. Choose either one of the front two facing the stairway.
Run off of the roof and fall for a few seconds. Then hit the jump button
and if you didn't jump too early, you should be able to land on to the
platform where you previously fought Death. Take the elevator in the
center of the platform down and you end up at the beginning of the
Clock Tower stage.
Shortcut to the last guy
Sent in by Code Hunter
After you beat the first guy and the ceiling falls, climb up the ledges
and jump on the next building, then jump to the next. Go to the corner
of that building and look down. You'll see some stepping stones way
down there. Step back, run and jump. If you jump right you'll land on
the stones. Theres a chicken one way and then go the other way and
climb the ledges to fight the last guy!
Reading clues
Sent in by Code Hunter
If you press the Action button when in front of most statues you will
receive a roast chicken or a roast beef. Sometimes reading the clues
on these statues will tell you of other hidden surprises. Also, ledges
containing secrets can be accessed by just jumping straight up and
pulling your character to the top.
Hidden items
Sent in by Code Hunter
When you are climbing the stairs up towards Draculas lair, you pass
through two towers before reaching the final tower. At the last tower,
jump onto either of the two torches and shimmy around the ledge to
the other side. There you will find a breakable torch with a Red Jewel
and a floating platform. You can walk to the platform on thin air by
walking straight toward it from the torch with the Red Jewel. Inside
you will find a Healing Kit, helpful for the major battle(s) to come.
Secret platform in Castle Courtyard
Sent in by Code Hunter
In the Castle Courtyard wait until 12:00 midnight and a secret platform
will rise from the fountain allowing access to the items on the top.
Invisible ledge in the Garden Maze
Sent in by Code Hunter
When you reach the entrance to the Garden Maze, turn right and look
up. You can see a platform. There is an invisible ledge in front that
you can pull yourself onto. The invisible ledge is also a good place
to attack the hounds from once you open the gates.
Visiting Renon
Sent in by Code Hunter
In the Villa Stage, Renon tells you there is a part of his contract that
you cannot read. What it actually says is that you can visit Renon as
often as you like, but your total purchase of his items cannot exceed
30,000 gold for the rest of the game. If you do spend over that amount
then Renon will fight you.
Talk to Rosa
Sent in by Code Hunter
To talk to Rosa, a vampire who waters the roses in the villa, enter the
room with all the red roses in it. At 3:00 A.M., Rosa will come and
water the roses.
Endings
Sent in by Code Hunter
What ending you get depends on two things. First, how many sun and
moon cards you use throughout the game. Using too many of these
cards will cause Vincent to be turned into a vampire, and you will
face him in the second chamber on your way to the final battle with
Dracula. If you encounter Vincent, you will get the okay ending.
The other is by how much money you spend. If you buy around 30,000
worth of items from Renon, he will appear in the first chamber on
your way to Dracula, and you will then be forced to fight him. By
doing this you will get to fight a few more versions of Dracula,
and get the supreme ending.
Reinhardt's Special Crystal
Sent in by Code Hunter
Reinhardt's Special Crystal is on the level "Tower of Execution." It is
behind the locked Tower of Execution gate. Once you get the key,
return to that point, open the gate, and hit the coffin that is lowered
and alone off to the right. This will get you Special 2. By beating the
game with this, you get his additional costume. To access it, hold Up
on the joystick, then Press A when choosing Reinhardt.
Carrie's Special Crystal
Sent in by Code Hunter
Carrie's Special Crystal is on the level "Tower of Socercy." It is near
the very end of the level, on a floating platform that has no apparent
way to reach. Simply take another leap of faith, hit the torch, get
Special 2. By beating the game with this, you get her additional
costume. To access it, hold Up on the joystick, then Press A when
choosing Carrie.
Hard difficulty setting
Sent in by Code Hunter
You can access the hard difficulty setting by collecting a special
green crystal in the first stage, the Forest of Silence. This Crystal
is near a huge canyon, and a switch. It appears as a purple torch
sitting on a platform in midair. To reach it, simply face the
platform and jump as far as you can. You will land on an invisible
platform and after hitting the torch, you receive Special 1. By
beating the game with this crystal (and saving), you will be awarded
Hard mode.
