2-----A Special Message from CAPCOM-----
Thank you for selecting X-MEN: MUTANT APOCALYPSE for your Super Nintendo
Entertainment System. Capcom is very proud to bring you the heroic
adventures of Marvel Comic's legendary X-MEN team.
X-MEN MUTANT APOCALYPSE offers 16 megs of high resolution graphics and
quality stereo sound. We hope you enjoy this addition to your Super
Nintendo Library.
4-----Safety Precautions-----
Follow these suggestions to keep your game pak in perfect operating
condition.
1. DO NOT subject you Game Pak to extreme temperatures, either hot or
cold. Always store at room temperature.
2. DO NOT touch the terminal connectors on your Game Pak. Keep it clean
and dust free by always storing it in its protective plastic case.
3. DO NOT try to disassemble your game pak.
4. DO NOT let your game pak come in contact with thinners, solvents,
benzene, alcohol, or any other strong cleaning agents that can damage
it.
5-----Getting Started-----
1. Check that the power switch on your Super Nintendo Entertainment
System is OFF before inserting or removing a game pak.
2. Insert the game pak into your Super Nintendo and turn power on.
3. When the X-MEN title screen appears, press the START button and the
following options will appear:
MISSION MODE: This option lets you start the adventure.
TRAINING MODE: This lets you practice your skills on level one.
PASSWORD: This option allows you to enter a password, if you have
already received one. (For more info on using the password, please refer
to the Password Section)
SOUND: This option lets you set either Stereo or Monaural.
4. Highlight the Game Start option and press the START button to begin
Professor Xavier's mission briefing. After it is complete and the
Blackbird has arrived in Genosha, select your X-Man to begin the
individual Missions.
5. To end the game, simply turn off the power, and eject your cartridge.
6-----Crisis on Genosha!-----
Forgive me on bringing you here on such short notice X-Men, but the
situation in Genosha is far worse than I once feared. As you know, I
have been troubled by the rise in anti-mutant activity on the tiny
island nation.
While using Cerebro to scan the island for the source of the
anti-mutant corruption, I came upon the presence of one of our oldest
and deadliest enemies. It appears Apocalypse has found a home in
Genosha.
It is now clear that the Genoshan government is using Apocalypse to
bring their mutant population under control. But, Apocalypse must have
his own plans for the mutants of Genosha. Whatever they may be, they
will only become worse unless you put a stop to this madness.
Our invasion of Genosha begins tonight.....
7-8-----Controlling the X-Men-----
Using the controller, you have access to all the fighting skills and
mutant abilities of the X-Men. But remember, control of the mutant
powers requires practice, the difference between life and death.
(Picture of SNES controller)
Pressing left, right, or down on the controller pad will move your
X-Men, but to unleash mutant powers, a rapid series of movements is
necessary.
Descriptions of how to do these attacks can be hard to do at first, so
you may want to go through and practice in the Training mode. Please
refer to these arrows below if you have any questions about their
meaning
(Picture of Control pad)
Once you have mastered all the skills in the training mode, enter the
missions. But remember, these are not Danger Room Simulations, every hit
will drain your life meter, and not even a mutant healing factor will
help when it is drained.

14-----Using your Password-----
As the X-Men complete their missions, Professor Xavier uses Cerebro to
send them passwords. When this happens, quickly write it down so you may
enter it to return to your mission at a later time.
If you have gained a password, you may enter it in the Enter Password
screen. Use Up and Doown to select a picture, and right and left to move
over. After all the pictures are correct, press start to go to where you
last left off!
15-----X-Men Survival Guide-----
-Pick up large and small X-canisters to refill your health meter.
-Search for the 3 X- plates in each mission. Getting all three = one
life.
-Learn to use your mutant abilities wisely. Over reliance on them can
leave you open for attack
-In Training Mode, the X button will activate your Mutant Ability, but
learn the combinations, because in the real mission, the X button will
not function.
