Now with two more controllers and your NES Satellite (TM) or NES Four Score (TM), you can experience the excitement of Nintendo's growing library of four-player games. To use the NES Controllers, you need: 1. The Nintendo Entertainment System (R) Control Deck (R) 2. Any Nintendo-compatible Game Pak 3. (C) 1990 Nintendo --- [PAGE 3] The two (2) NES Controllers are identical and can be plugged into any socket number, but the select and start buttons will work only on the controller plugged into socket #1. For one-player games or when you are playing a game alone, the controller must be plugged into socket #1. SELECT - Each Game Pak may contain several variations of the game. The *select* button is used to choose the particualar variation you want to play from the menu displayed on the screen at the beginning of the game. --- [PAGE 4] START - After selecting the game variation you want from the menu, push the *start* button to begin the game. The *start* button can also be used to pause the game. Pushing the *start* button in the middle of a game will cause it to "freeze" until you push the *start* button again. NOTE: Some games may have no pause function or may have a different function for botht the *select* and *start* buttons. Consult the instruction manual for the Game Pak you are using. A-B BUTTONS - The *A* and *B* buttons are used for the majority of game play. On each game, the *A* and *B* buttons will have a different function. Consult the instruction manual for the Game Pak you are using. CONTROL PAD - The *control pad* is used for moving game characters around the screen, and will be different for each game. Consult the instruction manual for the Game Pak you are using. PROPER CARE OF THE NES CONTROLLERS * Avoid exposure to high temperature, humidity or sever shocks. * Keep in a clean, dry place. Water or foreign substances in the connectors, plugs, control pad or buttons will adversely effect operation. * Use a soft damp cloth to remove any stains. Do not use abrasives, alcohol or solvents to clean. * When disconnecting an NES Controller from any socket, grasp the connector and pull slowly. *DO NOT* pull on the cord as damage may result.
