How to beat major bosses
Fighting the Wood Man
Sent in by Bryan
When fighting the Wood Man in Ashuras tower, use poison and status
effects and while he is stalled, use fire and ice and hammer and you
beat him in 5-15 turns.
How to build character abilities
Sent in by Norfleet
How to build character abilities: Strength can be raised by battling
with heavy weaponry like: hammer, axe, Long Sword, Battle Sword,
and the Gold Sword.
Agility is increased by fighting with light weaponry such as: whip,
sabre, sypha, Rapier, Laser Sword, Catclaw.
Mana is increased by fighting with magic spells.
Easy way to get meat
Sent in by Ethan Klotz
When you are really far,go back to the world where Ki is and walk
around until you find a Spider. Beat it with your best weapon in one
hit and you'll have a 99% chance of getting meat!!
How to find the Seven Sword
Sent in by Norfleet
To find the Seven Sword, you must defeat Apollo. When you descend to
the center of the earth you may encounter the Haniwa. The Seven Sword
will be given to you for beating them. They appear at random and it may
take a while for you to get it.
How do you beat Venus?
Sent in by Kosal Sin
Venus is extremely strong, and can stump for a while. Even though she has
no weaknesses, she is strong against fire and ice. Only thunder works, so
give her a bad hair day if you have Thunder. Otherwise, just attack with
your strongest. Whatever mutant has the highest mana get the cure spell
book. If you have no mutants, than use lots of cures. She also likes to
confuse you, so be ready to counter that.
Where do you find the Seven sword?
Sent in by Shawn LeClair
First you must defeat Apollo in the Celestial Temple. After he is dead,
go in the room he was guarding and collect all the stuff. Then go down
to the center of the room, and step on the tile. Inside, you will
encounter enemies called Haniwa. It is very difficult to kill them,
because they always use Flare magic, but after beating them, there is
a chance that they will drop the Seven Sword, which is extremely
helpful against the final boss.
Get Robots full HP after battle
Sent in by Kim Murphy
If any of your characters are robots, the robots can use a trick that can
get them full HP after a battle. The amount of HP that they get depends
on the armor, weapons, etc. they are wearing. If a robot have low HP
just change something like a armor with some other armor, and look at
the HP. You can see that the changing of armor cause the HP to go higher.
Just keep doing this until the robot has its full HP than change the
robots armor to what every you want it to be equipped to.
Odin tips
Sent in by WieBe Blitz
The best way to defeat Odin and his Creatures is to find the hyper gun in the
Nasty Dungond Level. Equip the hyper gun on the character in the first position
(so when your party attacks, the hyper gun will go off first). Have all the other
characters attack Odin. The hyper gun will destroy ALL of Odin's creatures
leaving only him and his Gunnar Spear to take you all on.
Easy way to get experience and money
Sent in by WieBe Blitz
Feel free to use the Peagasis MAGI to move from town to town. Going back to
Astura's tower is a good and easy way to get Experience and Money.
Geting the same attributes over and over
Sent in by Chuck Heinlen
Save on any ground where you can get attacked on, turn the Game Boy
off by using the off/on switch. Walk around until you get attacked
if you gain any experience then save again, turn the Game Boy off
again and start the saved game you just got done playing and walk
until you get into another fight again it should be the same enemies
that you fought before if they are use the same weapons you used to
kill them before and you should get the same attributes you got before,
then repeat the steps above and you should get them until you can get
no more!!
Sound tests
Sent in by Matt Hilger
Press and Hold Select, Down, and B for a few seconds for a sound test.
Sent in by C Wright
On the title screen, press B, Select, and Start at the same time. Now you
can hear all the sound effects and music of the entire game!
Garbage can tricks
Sent in by Matt
In Underground Dungeon: The top right corner treasure chests, there are
three potions, when you get the agility potion, discard it. Then keep
clicking on your garbage can, it works as an unlimited supply of the
agility potion, now you can use the seven sword effectively.
Sent in by James Repchull
The trick of dumping too much stuff (8) in the trash can, and then
clicking on the can, and then clicking on the person who's attributes
you want to put up, works. What level you are on does determine what goes
up. It even works on monsters!
Get maxed out with 999 HP
Sent in by Mad Dog
Go to any pine forest covered square on the world map. Save your game.
SHUT OFF the Game Boy. Do not reset, or this won't work. Restart the
game. You should be immediately attacked. If not, shut it off again.
Eventually you will be attacked. When you kill the enemy, the first
character in your party (as long as it isn't a monster or robot) should
gain HPs. Shut off and repeat. That person will continue to gain HPs
at an increasing rate (first 2 or 5, then 12, then finally 20 or more at
a time) until they have maxed out at 999. Put another human or mutant
at the front of the party and begin again.
Messed up characters
Sent in by James Repchull
Did you know there is a way to totally mess up the game. To do so, get
teleport from Venus, and then enter the dragon races. Use teleport in the
race and leave. Your character will come out looking like whatever sprite
is near him, and be able to walk thru walls. However, the character can't
talk to anyone, and doesn't encounter monsters. I don't know if you can
beat the game this way.
Touch warning
Sent in by James Repchull
If a monster (or a lucky Mutant) has Touch, and you're just dying to use it,
remember this: If the monster you Touch is stronger than you, and has Touch
itself, the Touch will backfire, hurting you! But remember, this is a two
way street.
Monster Meat tip
Sent in by James Repchull
Monster Meat is not random. If your a monster, and you eat the meat, the
type you turn into depends on what type you are now. But the monster's rank
depends on what monster it was (E.G. Eating Skeleton meat isn't good for a
Hermit) Unless you're Rank 4 or 5 monster (like a Treant, or a EvilEye),
then it'll stay that rank. That's good to know when you eat Slepnir meat
(who's Rank 4), after wasting Odin.
Arsenal tips
Sent in by James Repchull
Here's the lowdown on Arsenal!
You need a monster (hopefully two monsters). One should have a high-damage
skill, like Flare, P-Blast, or Critical, and (this is the one to get when you're
monster's solitaire), one that has a drain skill, like Dissolve, or Touch, but
the best is Revenant, who can Recover 100 dam a round). Arsenal comes in
3 'forms'
1: He (or she?) fires 4 lasers. This is where the high-dam skill comes in.
You see, Arsenal will Recover lost guns if you don't kill him fast. As he's
damaged, he'll lose Lasers, and therefore, damage. So, do 700dam around.
You'll note that draining skill hurt him badly, too, but you'll need those.
2: Crusher! He attacks one foe for 100 damage. Now you should heal, and damage
him some more.
3: Crusher!! It hurts everyone for 500 damage!!! Let the others die, and drain
his HP into you. He'll go down, and you beat the game! As long as you don't
miss, or run out of the drain skill.
Character tips
Sent in by Eric Near
My best party for this game is Female Human, Robot, Male Mutant and
Monster. The Female Human can have the best attacks with agility
based weapons (Laser Sword, Saber, Rapier, CatClaw, etc.) She should
be equipped with Speed Magi, as soon as you get them. The Robot works
best with three agility-raising weapons (same as above) and three
strength-raising weapons (Long Sword, Battle Sword, Gungnir Spear,
etc.) The last slot can be filled with a defense raising items (Shields
or the Defense Sword work best) until you get the Selfix, then put
that there. The robot should be equipped with defense Magi as soon
as you get them. The Male Mutant has much Mana powers, and decent
Strength. No magic books should be used, though. They're too expensive,
and with the Mana Magi, Blizzard works great. You should try to get
Fire or Thunder (both is even better.) Those skills can usually be acquired
in first- or second- world fights. The Monster is not that great, but in
the end it really pays off. By the time you fight Apollo, you can easily
have a monster capable of using Flare.
Apolo tips
Sent in by Jason
When fighting Apolo, don't worry about attacks, worry about healing,
all you have to do is stay alive, most importantly, keep dad alive,
Apolo will finish himself off after a bunch of turns, and dad will save
everyone from dying from the blast.
Armor and sword tips
Sent in by G. Dufore
Get all the Giant armor as soon as possible, it adds strength to your
human, allowing the battle sword to be more effective on venus than
a musket if it hits. If you equip two or more of the same sword on a
person, the damage it does is increased. For example, if you equip for
rapiers on a robot in the first world, he can attack with over 100
damage on almost every hit. and he has a high agility that is added by
the rapiers, longs do the same except they add strength, I prefer Rapiers.
Bottle tips
Sent in by G. Dufore
With Magic, Body, Power, and Speed bottles, you should give all the
magic to the mutant in your group, all the power to the human in your
group and the body and speed to the person with the lowest hp (body)
and agility (speed). This will help your people to become semi-equal
and better with their type of weapons.
Level up quickly
Sent in by Chris Bruines
Some of you may know this already, but there is a way to level
up relatively quickly. You'll notice that when you first start (or
resume) your game, you get a series of 3 battles (first square
where you start, one square away and 4 squares away). Find a
sequence where you level up somehow. Then save, turn off
(NOT RESET) the Game Boy and turn it on again. Repeat the exact
same sequence and you should level up again. Repeat. This works
great, especially in the lower levels because the enemies don't
take that much to kill. After one person is done, try changing
the altar order and weapons characters use. This will change
who levels up and what characteristic goes up (HPs, Str, Agility, etc.)
0Damage tip
Sent in by James Repchull
You ever wonder what makes monsters like Pebbles and Hofuds
so resistant to damage? The skill 0Weapon. It makes all weapon
attacks do 1/2 damage. Also 0Change combindes 0Weapon with
an immunity to all conditions, and a 0Damage combindes an
0Weapon with immunity to all elemental attacks.
Item tips
Sent in by James Repchull
The Prism Magi tells you the number of Magi in the same world.
The TrueEye just allows you to see in the white cave. The Aegis
makes the party immune to all damage but weapons, and a little
bit of others (like whirl, or the powerful P-Blast). The Pegasus
allows you to warp to any town already visited. The Masamune
is a deadly weapon.
Buying doors
Sent in by James Repchull
Be sure to buy two doors, not just one. After all, they only
come in packs of three.
Weapon tip
Sent in by James Repchull
Some weapons, used against a monster weak versus that element,
may kill them 1 hit. The Murasame works well vs. humans, the
Dragon sword vs. reptiles.
Hints on some of the bosses
Sent in by James Repchull
Pagocyte: Do you have a Book of Ice, or SMG? Good.
Duntis: He might give you skills like 0All, or P-Blast.
Ogre: Save and fight him until you get meat, it's good stuff.
Mantcore: Same story as Ogre, above.
Ninja: A rather bad boss, use your best attacks.
Hermit: Same story as Ogre, above.
Phantom and Mephisto: Don't open the wrong chest in Venus's sewers.
Lamia: Same story as Ogre, above.
Watcher: Same story again, but beware.
That annoying merchant guy who's name I don't remember :) You might get
an Abacus for beating him.
Sho-Gun: A major boss, I forgot him in the first tour. Watch out for his
Riddle, and use Taro's weapons.
Tian-Lung: His meat is the best in the game, he's also the hardest.
Fernir: Okay, next to him.
How to beat major bosses
Sent in by James Repchull
Ashura- Give Mask a Battle or Saber Sword. In his hands it does
over 200 damage a slice, so, while Ashura's pounding your team,
Mask'll dice him to ribbons.
Venus- She's immune to most magic, except Sleep and skills that
mimic that. Give all who can equip Muskets, they do 100 or so damage
to her, and also hove you have a monster that can stun (Serpent,
Champango) and a Triceras, it's 3horn can do mega-damage with the
Strength Magi. Venus is also affected by skills like Dissolve and Touch,
and it's not easy to stun her, but it can be done.
Magnate- Use the Aegis Magi to block most of his attacks, and
pound him with your best weapons. His tornado is the worst attack.
Odin- Use the Hyper Cannon on his cohorts, and then the Glass Sword
on him. Also, the Aegis Magi will block his magic. As a side note, the
meat of Slepnir will turn you into a monster you won't see until near
the end, and, even if you eat other meat, it'll stick.
Minion- Like Magnate, above, only weaker.
WarMach- Use Dad's Heal Rod to fix WarMach's attack, and then
disconnect the jerk. His Bash is his worst damage.
Apollo- Use Book of Flare for Dad, and Lasers on him. All your
monsters should be Gazers, or EvilEyes. That is what can penetrate
his Aegis. After he morphs, he'll do Masamune, then Flare, and then
he'll repeat. Use Dad's Heal Rod to fix that.
