E-Mail from a Funcoland employee (Also called GameStop)
E-Mail from Gary N Arntzen
Hello
I am an eighteen year old employee at Funcoland and I have a lot
of fun there. It's not that the company sucks, it's the lazy
employees. Funcoland tries to promote great service but not
many employees are willing to do it.
I believe what counts is the customer and I never hesitate to put
a game in the arcades for kids to try. If you know of any experiences
where the service was not nearly satisfactory, I'd urge you to tell
the store manager and ask him exactly what the policies are in that
store. Although there are many company policies we simply cannot
change (e.g. store credit prices/No cashouts), there are things
you can do if you're not being treated properly.
If you are unsure of what the actual store policies are, ask the manager
or e-mail them at the Funcoland website. Too many cases have happened
where an employee has told the customer, "Sorry kid...you have to be this
old for me to put in a game for you." This is bull. Employees are REQUIRED
to put games in for EVERY customer including those kids that never buy
anything, but just come in and play games. Next time it happens, tell
them they are required to do so.
I would also like to say that I know a lot of the people that work at the
mail order place and these people are not the smartest in the world. Our
own store located in Burnsville has had its share of problems with them
also. We feel your pain!
I try my hardest every day to help every customer find what they need and
it makes me sick to hear about such idiot employees out there. Remember,
Funcoland's greatest asset is its customers and if they had a choice
between the jerk-off employee and the customer, they would much
rather fire the worker.
The only reason this kind of crap has been going on for so long is because
no one will speak up. No customer should have to buy a Nintendo game with
the label ripped off of it. Believe me, Funcoland wants you to be totally
happy with everything they sell you, but they don't know half the stuff the
customer has to put up with in some stores.
That's why we need your help in telling all the people that have either have
or have not been in a Funcoland to report all inconveniences to the store manager.
-Thank you
P.S. If there are any complaints anyone would like to address, the
